North Carolina raises the self-distribution limit for breweries

After a battle back and forth for the last couple of years, North Carolina is now supporting the Brewery industry by allowing  beer craft breweries to produce up to 100,000 barrels annually.

This bill came as a compromise between breweries and distributors within the state.

Governor Roy Cooper signed into law the Craft Beer Distribution and Modernization Act which permits selling up to 50,000 barrels without a distributor.

Breweries were limited to only being able to sell about 25,000 barrels annually and anything over that amount would require a a whole-saler for distribution.
